Association RIdIM promotes, supports and conducts worldwide research and cataloguing projects, workshops and conferences dealing with visual culture related to music, dance, theatre and opera.
Association RIdIM operates as a non-profit organisation. It receives no public subsidies and no regular donations from private institutions and organisations. As such we are reliant on external funding sources and we sincerely appreciate the support that we receive to pursue our mission of providing access to all our services and the database free of charge to all interested parties.
Due to a generous grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation during the period 2011-2012, Association RIdIM was able to achieve the development and population of a state-of-the-art database for the manipulation of images of instances of music, dance, theatre and opera in visual culture and the provision of that database to scholars worldwide. The database can be accessed by clicking on this link.
From 2006 to 2009 the Institut de l’histoire d’art (INHA) in Paris supported Association RIdIM by hosting the International RIdIM Centre, including the provision of infrastructure and personnel, and by publishing the RIdIM Newsletter.
From 2010 to 2013 the International RIdIM Centre was housed at the Institute of Musical Research of the School of Advanced Study of the University of London where we were fortunate to have access to exceptional facilities as well as being at the centre of postgraduate studies in London.
