It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you about the death of our generous supporter and honorary lifetime member, Constance Old. She passed away on 12th July 2023 at the age of 94, and we will miss her more than mere words can express. She was a keen promotor and avid patron of the Association Répertoire International d’Iconographie Musicale (RIdIM) and of music and dance iconography research. Her passion for both evidenced by the myriad of her achievements: for instance, she established The Lloyd Old and Constance Old Thesis and Lecture Award in Music, Dance & Theatre in Visual Culture (with her brother, Dr Lloyd Old (1933-2011), the eminent cancer immunologist). This is awarded annually by Association RIdIM. She also founded the Performing Arts Index of Music and Dance at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in collaboration with the Research Center for Music Iconography at the Graduate Center of The City University of New York. Constance Old will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure and privilege to know her.
